In July 2001, brothers Milt and Bob Sell bought an aluminum foundry in Woodville from Sylvester Riehm, who wanted to retire. Riehm Foundry had operated in Woodville for several decades, and the brothers were familiar with Sylvester and his company. Milt had worked in the foundry industry for over 30 years, and Bob had owned a machine shop/tool-and-die making company that had collaborated with Riehm, so the business seemed like a good fit for the pair.

St. Croix Castings started with four employees and has now grown to over 35 employees on two shifts. They enlist the services of three manufacturing sales representatives throughout the US. In 2010, the company implemented the ISO 9001:2008 quality program to enable them to broaden their customer base and again further updated the program in 2016 to ISO 9001:2015. 

 

Now marking over 20 years of business, Milt and Bob Sell have led St. Croix Castings through economic downturns and positioned the company for growth through diversification, relationship marketing and ongoing investment in capital equipment to keep up with the latest technology in molding, pouring and heat treating.

St. Croix Castings will be continuing in their commitment to family values and customer-centric principles, ensuring the 'family owned and operated' legacy thrives for generations to come as Milt and Bob plan to "pass the torch" onto Milt's daughter Nadine, the company's General Manager, in the coming years.
